OLORUNDARE ENIMOLA, Lagos
The Rotary Club of Lekki Novare in accordance to the mission goals of Rotary International has continued its runs in the execution of impact making humanitarian projects and programmes to host Communities with the renovation of toilet facilities and installation of submersible water pumping machine at the Eti-Osa Community Senior High Secondary School, Sangotedo Sangotedo area of Lekki Ajah, Lagos State.
The commissioning of the renovated toilet facilities and installation ceremony came up at the school vicinity on Thursday 10, April, 2025, drawing accolades and commendations from the Teachers, Students and members of the public at the occasion.
Speaking at the occasion, Rotarian Gloria Onu PHF, the Irresistible President of the Club decried the poor state of the School's toilet facilities and water supply before her Club's intervention, saying, "our Club in line with Rotary International's Seven Areas of Focus on Water Sanitation and Hygiene carried out a need assessment exercise on the school and the need for the repair of the toilet facilities and the restoration of water supply was discovered, requiring our urgent intervention.
"In return the Club mobilised funds and resources for the renovation of nine toilets facilities for both the Male and Female students, likewise a new submersible water pumping machine was bought and installed to promote hygiene and serve as a thorough cleaning regent for the toilet and the environment." She added.
In appreciation, Mrs. Kuforiji Olubunmi Folake, the Principal of the School, said, "The value of these gifts to our school cannot be quantified, this is even more so considering our large student population and teachers alike, there is a huge need for a suitable convinience system that your Club has graciously come to put in place, the same goes for the water supply. I hereby on behalf of the students, the teachers and our parents, sincerely appreciate you for this selfless projects and are greatly appreciated, praying that God will abundantly replenish His blessings back to the Club and entire members."
Rotarian Chinwe Anyanwu, the Service Project Chair of the Club for 2024 - 2025, said that members of the Rotary Club of Lekki-Novare are self motivated and passionate about the mission goals of Rotary International and are always ready to make selfless contributions to the Club and putting in their best in the execution of Club projects, including in the successful renovation of the Eti-Osa school toilets' renovation and the installation of the submersible water pump machine.
