Adebusoye Samson of Anglican Grammar School, Ota, emerged winner of the Marathon race organised as part of the activities marking the 7th Coronation Anniversary of His Majesty, Oba (Prof.) Adeyemi Abdukabir Obalanlege, Lanlege Ekun II, Arole Iganmode, the Olota of Ota, involving Secondary Schools in the Ado Odo-Ota Local Government Area who took part in the inaugural event.
The event aimed to harness the unifying power of sports while rekindling students’ interest in track and field events. Beyond its physical benefits, the marathon served as a platform to promote mental resilience and foster healthy competition among secondary school students, the organisers said.
Adebusoye Samson of Anglican Grammar School, Otta, emerged as the overall champion of the highly competitive race, demonstrating remarkable endurance and determination, while Ani Kanyisola of Dakeff Schools, Lagos was the first female finisher wasshowcasing exceptional grit and perseverance.
