The Lagos State chapter of the Nigerian Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO) has expressed its deepest condolences to the families of victims and all stakeholders affected by the devastating tanker explosion in Niger State, which claimed nearly 80 lives.
In a press release signed by Alhaji Kayode Odunowo, Chairman of NARTO Lagos State, the association described the incident as a “painful reminder of the risks and sacrifices made by our members and the general public in the course of their daily activities.”
The tanker explosion, which occurred on January 18, 2025, at Dikko Junction, Suleija in Niger State, has been widely condemned by stakeholders in the transportation sector.
NARTO Lagos State sympathized with the National President of NARTO, the National Executive Council, NARTO North-central Zone, NUPENG, PTD, and the entire NARTO family across Nigeria.
“We mourn the loss of innocent lives, and our hearts go out to the families and loved ones of the victims. We pray that God grants them the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” Alhaji Odunowo said.
The association also urged its members to exercise caution and adhere to safety protocols to prevent such incidents in the future.
